Robert Acker

Robert AckerRobert M. Acker, 59, of Golden, Colorado passed away on April 24, 2013. He was born to Robert F. Acker and the late Phyllis Acker in Lafayette, Indiana on December 28, 1953. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. A lover of the outdoors, Rob was an avid rock climber, cyclist, runner, snow skier, tennis player, and hiker. He also loved music and played a guitar which he built with his own hands. His humor, keen intelligence, sensitivity and ability to connect with a wide range of people, won him many friends. His friends and family will remember him as a gentle giant. Rob is survived by: his two sons, Benjamin Acker and Robert Acker of Lakewood; his father, Robert F. Acker of Tucson; his brother, James Acker of Seattle; his sisters, Barbara Acker of Evanston, IL and Catharine Vaughan of Summit, NJ; 2 nieces, 4 nephews; a grand nephew and grand niece.
