John was known to many as "Mac" and was a bold expressive painter in the art department at New Trier East, painting large figurative abstract works influenced by Willem DeKooning, as well as beautiful small intimate abstractions reminiscent of Arshille Gorky. He went on to become an accomplished auto painter working for Cadillac in Evanston, Illinois for many years. He is survived by 4 siblings and a wife. He will be missed.

He had the true temperament of an artist. Turned me on to some great jazz musicians. So sorry to hear this news. JP

He was indeed a jazz afficionada and we enjoyed listening to many jazz greats in the small clubs of Chicago. A creative spirit and soul for sure.
