Eddie knew what his passion was from the time he was a young child.  From puppet shows in his backyard, to New Trier and College, he was a theater person through and through.  He ultimately settled on writing and directing and made his home in NY.  He was just starting to acheive success when he was felled by AIDS that ravaged the arts communities in the 80's.  Had he lived, he undoubtedly  would have gone on to acheive more and more.  The friends that surrounded him in those days are all phenominally successful actors, writers, directors and more.  I have so many memories of him goofing around: crashing my mom's dinner party wearing a rhinestone studded opera cape, going to the Gold Coin at 3AM and shining our bright lights on people making out in cars at the lagoons.    I still have all the Christmas cards he made: Eddie standing in front of the Oscar Mayer bologna display at the Jewel, sitting on a crescent moon prop wearing a lame speedo, etc.  He was really one of a kind and I miss him every day.

Very nice to learn a little about Eddie Stone.  We went to Skokie and Camp Douglas Smith together, but I never really saw him during the NT years.  At camp, he always cracked me up.  He was very funny.   So sorry to hear the plague took him out.

When I look at that photo from the yearbook, all I can think of is how he stood in front of the mirror for what felt like hours, trying to perfect the right look without letting his braces show.  He didn't really get it right; that picture doesn't look like how I remember him.  But a lot of us did wierd stuff in those pictures.

I miss Eddie a lot.  I think about him all the time, usually when something happens that I KNOW he would have found funny.  He and I went to the 10th high school reunion together.  He was a good person to go with--he had the right perspective.   We laughed a lot.  Too bad he won't be aound for this one.  What a loss.

This is very sad to learn.  Eddie was a lot of fun with inexhaustible energy.  I cried when I read this....

Good God!  I was in kindergarten with Eddy at Hubbard Woods.  I stalked Eddy.  I loved Eddy. I wanted to marry Eddy.  I wouldn't leave Eddy alone.  He would complain to the teacher about me.  The teacher would tell me to leave him alone.  I couldn't, Eddy was my first love!  I have thought of Eddy countless times and am pissed he taken out be AIDS.  He was my first gay love, and and therefore, hold a special spot in my heart.

I lived across the street from Eddie and will always remember the music blaring out of his second story bedroom window. Especially the musical Hair! Very fond memories of getting rides to school every day from Dave Minewrath along with Eddie and his brother in the black Rambler station wagon. RIP
