Marta was a dear friend who I unfortunately lost contact with after high school. She was a caring, sincere and fun person. Marta always had a smile for everyone and kind words about everyone in her life. I have Marta and her family to thank for introducing me to snow skiing and water skiing. They had a summer home at Williams Bay, Wisconsin where we spent many wonderful times together on the water and snow. When I found out that Marta had died, sometime between our 10th and 20th year reunions, I tried to contact her brother Hans Hognestad. I read in the Dartmouth publication (Hans had attended Dartmouth) that Hans had died. That was approximately 3 years ago that I read about Hans who had graduated from NTW in 1969. I know that Marta is smiling down on us now.

Marta was such a nice person. I enjoyed being her friend. I lost touch with her after highschool, but I heard that she was married with 2 small children when she died (cancer I believe). Such a loss for her family...she was so young.
I look forward to catching up with her some day on the next world! God's speed Marta.

Thank you all for the kind words about my mother. I welcome any stories you can share seeing that I lost her when I was rather young.
